They are given a lavish penthouse apartment in Mumbai and they decide to continue their act for seven years which will enable them to pay off their debts. The acting couple meets with two other people at the agency, Sweetu (Shilpa Shetty) who is in love with Rahul, and Raja (Farhan Akhtar) who is in love with Preeti. As the weeks go by, Preeti and Rahul begin to fall in love with each other. They enjoy living together and eventually start to become just like a real married couple. After seven years, however, they realize their love for each other and decide to call off the act. Afraid of what will happen to Sweetu and Raja, they decide not to reveal their true identities so their friends will still think that they are a married couple. Preeti and Rahul's lives continue as before – Rahul meets with Preeti at her office at 8:00 every day and goes home together at 9:00pm. To their surprise they are not found out. And they are happy to be able to spend time with each other in public. Preeti is surprised at how the relationship transforms Rahul's life, making him more light-hearted.
